Death and Deviled Eggs
An Invitation to a Share Stories and Participate in a Podcast Project
As someone whose job it is to pay attention to rural things, and admittedly someone interested in the meanings we make from death, I have a hunch. I think that the rural funeral practices we engage in, whether its food, funeral services, standing in lines at funeral homes, putting flowers on the family door, and the countless others, hold in them the potential for new life.
My hope is to gather stories from people from various rural backgrounds in order to sink into their experiences. I plan to faithfully explore these stories in search commonalities, differences, roots, and branches, all that might point toward new life in rural communities. The goal is to format these into a podcast series of stories, interpretation, and a means of creating new connections in our rural lives.
